Utah SDB Adventure Week 2025
The Journey of Courage and Discovery
Picture this: The sun rises over the red rock cliffs of Moab, casting golden light across the canyon floor. It’s the start of a new adventure, one that invites you to step into the unknown. Your heart races as you prepare to descend into a narrow slot canyon. With ropes in hand, you take that first step, rappelling into a hidden world of beauty—carved stone walls, ancient formations, and quiet pools of water glimmering in the sunlight. Each obstacle you overcome builds your confidence, transforming the impossible into a triumph.
But this is just the beginning. From the stillness of the canyons, the adventure roars to life. You climb into an ATV, feeling the hum of the engine beneath you as the rugged trails of Moab stretch ahead. Steep climbs, winding paths, and thrilling challenges test your courage. With every turn of the wheel, you master the untamed terrain and discover the strength within yourself.
And then there’s the river—a two-day expedition on the mighty Colorado. Together with your team, you’ll navigate whitewater rapids that demand focus, trust, and teamwork. The spray of the river cools your face as you paddle through each exhilarating challenge. Between rapids, the calm waters guide you through breathtaking canyon landscapes. At night, the stars blanket the sky as you share stories around the campfire, the warmth of friendship and accomplishment filling the air.
This isn’t just an adventure; it’s an invitation to embark on a journey of courage and discovery. Moab’s wild beauty will challenge you, inspire you, and reveal just how much you’re capable of achieving.
Come join us. Embrace the call of the desert, the thrill of the unknown, and the power of discovering another version of yourself.
The journey of a lifetime is waiting for you.

Please Take Nothing but Pictures
and Leave Nothing but Footprints
Leave No Trace
This will be a Leave No Trace adventure, meaning whatever we bring in will be packed out.
We will share daily tips to learn about responsible outdoor practices, leaving behind no trace of our presence, and preserving the pristine beauty of the wilderness for generations to come. With fun-filled activities, campfire stories, and camaraderie with fellow campers, this is a chance to foster a deep appreciation for the environment and develop sustainable habits.
Adventure Week Communication
We know how important it is to stay in touch while your child is on this exciting adventure. While we encourage students to unplug during the day to fully embrace the activities, we’ll ensure there’s dedicated time each evening for them to connect with you.
Here’s how Adventure Week communication will work:
- Parent Check-In: Students will have the opportunity to use their cell phones during designated times to call or text you, share pictures, and highlight the day’s adventures, if needed. We anticipate they’ll be pretty wiped out after a full day of playing, exploring, and discovering, so don’t be surprised if their updates are short or forgotten!
- Emergency Contact: Most of Adventure Week is in cell phone service and our team will always be available in case of emergencies. You can reach out to the following numbers:
- Alex Westergard: 435.279.5137
- Aaron Ogden: 801.243.1791
- ???????
- Encouraging Engagement: By limiting cell phone use during the day, we’re helping students fully focus on the activities, connect with their peers, and fully experience the adventure. We would appreciate your support as a parent to encourage your child to limit screen time and fully immerse themselves in this wonderful journey of discovery.
We’ll keep you updated with any important information and ensure your child has the chance to share their incredible journey with you—energy permitting!
